IndyKite Hub: One Portal for Every Identity Product

Unified Next.js 14 SaaS bringing all IndyKite services into a single UI—built with Auth.js SSO, Tyr Design System components and live SWR data updates.

Lead Product Designer, 2021 – 2024

Challenge

Five separate IndyKite services, each with its own UI, data model and menu names, were confusing customers and generating support requests. Enterprise admins needed to: Onboard new tenants in minutes, not days Switch between sub-products without re-auth See live audit and trust-score data in one place

Approach

I owned the UX architecture while orchestrating five product squads around a single source of design truth. Miro workshops turned siloed journeys into one end-to-end IA; a Tyr-powered Figma library kept every screen on-brand and dev-ready. Shared information Architecture (IA) workshops Mapped onboarding, explore and policy flows in Miro, approved by PM + BE architect. Design-system first Published Tyr tokens in Figma; two designers consumed the library with zero re-spec. Living spec Edge-cases, API payloads and Loom clips documented in Notion for async clarity. PR gatekeeper Twice-weekly GitHub reviews; I flagged token drift before code merged.

Prototype & Tech

Day-to-day, I kept the stack designer-friendly and transparent, eliminating hand-off friction. Figma Variants + Auto-layout—all states and size-classes. Tyr Design System tokens—colour, type, spacing 1-to-1 with code. Miro concept maps—embedded into Notion for quick context. Notion living spec—user stories, edge cases, acceptance criteria. GitHub x Storybook loop—design comments on PRs; green-check when pixel-perfect.

Outcomes & Next Steps

As Lead Product Designer, I steered the Hub launch—delivering measurable efficiency gains and unifying our five services under one UX vision Streamlined on-boarding: Admins now create tenants, service accounts and API keys in one seamless flow, eliminating context-switching. Accelerated delivery: Reusing Tyr DS components across squads turned feature builds from multi-week efforts into single-digit days. Reduced support tickets: A consistent UI cut navigation-and-setup inquiries by over 50 %, freeing up our support team. Rapid team adoption: Three product teams onboarded to Hub and the shared DS in under two weeks, ensuring 100 % design consistency.
